The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

It's Stage 2 at The Stables near MK (if you know it) - seats 80. I can be as close, or as far away, as I like - as long as I don't block sightlines. So will probably shoot mostly from either side of the stage and the back of the room. I'll be there for the soundcheck to get up close to each band...

The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

I've been asked to shoot a gig at a small venue (indoor, evening). It will be professionally lit, but it will be my first time shooting in this environment. I have an A9ii and was wondering which lens you would advise? I have the 70-200 f2.8, but looking to hire a smaller lens to use. I'm...

Thanks for the earlier feedback from this query... I now have the Sony FE 20-70 f4 along with a Tamron 150-500 f5/6.7 to go with my Sony 70-200... I haven't tried the 20-70 yet, but I'm liking the other 2 lenses for my motorsport. (I took my pension early and I've almost spent it!! :D)

I have been using the Sony 16-50 2.8 SSM lens on the A77ii. I use that lens for abstract (ICM) landscapes as well as just a general lens for paddock shots and landscapes. I did think about using an adaptor, but part of me also wants to make a clean break to E-mount

Thanks for the info and explanation - as I said, I have the Sony FE 70-200mm F2.8 ii as I loved using the A-mount version so much. Really looking for something up to 70mm 'ish' maybe even less. The Tamron 28-75 f2.8 looks interesting.

The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

Not sure whether this is the right place to ask... I've taken the decision to move from my Sony A77ii (which has been great, but is now getting a bit creaky!) and I have a Sony A9ii on the way. Does anyone use the Sony Vario-Tessar T* SEL1670Z 16-70mm f/4 ZA OSS E on an A9ii? I notice that it...

Hi I'm looking for some advice on using a DSLR/SLT camera for video.I shoot stills with a Sony A77ii, but know nothing about video. My son is at Uni studying Creative Digital Media and has expressed an interest in getting himself his own camera rather than borrowing from the uni. It seems that...

    Rockingham - where to shoot?

JohnStewart - thanks for the info. I like the first shot at the chicane - is that just before it loops back onto the oval? The meeting I'm at is running the International Sportscar circuit, so the chicane will be included. Thanks again

    Rockingham - where to shoot?

Hi I'll be covering the BARC saloon racing at the end of May and have managed to secure a trackside pass. Having never taken photos at Rockingham before (apart from the pit roof), can anyone share some of the better infield spots? I'm guessing the obvious place is the outside of the hairpin at...

    Looking to buy a77 2

I've previously bought from Digital Depot in Stevenage. They have a good Sony stock and are good to deal with too. Maybe worth calling them?
