My uncle was a professional photographer. Back in the very early 1970s, when I first showed an interest in photography, he taught me that I'd never get a bad exposure with 1/125 and f8 at ISO 100. I have continued to use that as a basis ever since.

The Poiundlands in the Metro Centre and in Norwich were selling both Agfa and Ferrania Solaris 200 (a packet of 2 rolls of 24 for £1 each, albeit undated) the other week. The Poundland just off the Holloway Road is currently selling Agfa. Not sure where all the Kodak has gone.

I went into Jessops' Islington branch the other day fro some Ilfotol wetting agent. They tried to convince me I wanted some Ilford film - which they had - then some developer - which they did not. What was really depressing was that they plainly had no idea at all what a wetting agent is. Part...

I can second that! I posted a film last Tuesday afternoon. On Wednesday morning they rang me at 9.30 to say they were posting my order back to me. It arrived the following morning. I have no commercial, family or other link whatsoever to them. I just think good service deserves a shout now...

I posted 3 rolls of 135 to Photo Express in Hull on Tuesday for scanning to cd, and got them back today: first class service in all respects. I've used them before and can't imagine why I'd use anyone else.
