Interesting, will search info on the 300, 1st glance shows its on budget. Point taken. So the 70-200 f4 is a decent enough lens (IS not being necessary but it is a better lens all round with IS optically and more weather proof) but there is some debate about how useful it will be in the loop...

There's a Kingfisher in attendance at Arudel Wildfowl and wetlands. You have to go on the boat to see it but the pilot is experienced as to where it sits and feeds, I was only hampered by the short (and only) lens I had with me. Of course nothing is guaranteed.
