BTW I got some Portra 400 and Ilford HP5...does this mean I should always have the asa dial at 400? Or do I have some creative options with the use of this dial? Appreciate the pointers, Cheers, Paul

Awesome you guys!!! Thanks for the advice. It was the mirror lock up :) The beast lives once more ! It seems to work ok without the battery, (though I do have a battery and also the motor drive) I'd actually like to remove the motor drive but it leaves a part of the camera's interior exposed...

I mean... is the focus spread a dealbreaker on the D600? Is the DR on the D600 significantly better than the D700 in practice? I heard the D700 whoops it for concert shooting = blamed the 'night hunting'..

How would you guys rate the focus system on the D600 compared to the D700, I'm tempted to get the D700 TBH, having heard about hunting in low light on the part of the D600...any thoughts? Cheers Paul

Rumours abound! Apparently this model only fixes the oil-spot issue and can do 0.5 fps continuous burst faster than D600 I was hoping they would upgrade the focus system cos I heard the D600 was pretty pish in low light - focus hunting etc - compared to D700 or D4 So I'm considering a...

I have the non VC version for Nikon, it is pretty damn good :) Really great range to have, plus 2.8 means good for low light. Bokeh is not in prime quality but still can make you a decent portrait at 50mm. Recommended... I will probs be flogging mine tho when the d610 comes out :D
