Lightroom on my PC is fine with Canon RAW files but my Fuji RAW slow it down really badly, I can hit a button to make a change on a picture and it can be over 10 seconds before it reacts.
I bought the Fittest one for £13 and I've found it quite good as I have biggish hands and struggled to hold the camera one handed with a decent size lens on, the thumb grip gives much better grip and its never gotten in way for me.
I've never used an external flash even though I carry one ........... lol. Tripod is a must for me though. As said, it really depends on what your going to take pics of :-)
I have a Sony touchscreen with side buttons for controlling in pocket, drag drop file system and easy create playlists large memory and excellent quality.
I process the RAW files into Tiff with ONLY adjusting sharpness and clarity in Lightroom. I then process them in Photomatix and save as Tiff. Then I do a full pp in Lightroom adjusting CLARITY as required to remove "softness" and finally saving in Jpeg, you really need to work on your own...
I dropped my 7D when it was 1 month old and got this fault, Canon changed several parts under warranty but it was never rectified, I just learnt to live with it.
You will need to try high ISO and use a low f aperture setting if hand holding but not easy, best to try and find something you can support camera on and keep ISO down and use a mid to higher f setting. Use the camera timer.
