For what its worth I myself have taken (and sold) some very nice pictures on a compact...don't get hung up on having the biggest camera...it won't make you an instant professional photographer (definition being; someone who earns their living from their images) The D80 is a fantastic camera but...

Can anyone recommend a decent UK based retail outlet? I am looking to spend around £1500 on a new DSLR and I would like the piece of mind of buying it from a 'proper' shop not to mention the added bargaining power of hard cash! I know that you can get some bargains from HK but tbh I am not...
