    I have a generic grip on mine and a battery from 7 day shop. It is super heavy with a BG on, so i rarely use it.

    I think they want batteries in the cabin on flights because if they ignite, it's will be noticed a lot quicker than if it's in the hold.

    I had a D7000 that was plagued with issues (not endemic with the line. Just my bad luck) recently got upgraded to a D7100 due to my faulty 7k The D7100 is better, and if I was offering advise I'd say get the 7100 if your budget covers it, but the 7000 is a great bit of kit and won't disappoint...
