When you say Portaflash is that a Make? EDIT sorry yep looked. From experience. You need Pro standard lights Multiblitz, Bowens etc. Purely because other cheaper lights simply cut out when used in schools. The cheap ones are great for the odd shot here and there with minutes between flashes...
