    Thank you all for your responses, very useful. My plan is now to 1) Use my Sigma 150-600mm more - only used it a couple of times on my R7 and while some people mention focusing issues I haven't had any yet 2) Hire a 1.4x Extender from Lenslab for £18 for 3 days and see how I get on with it on...

    Yes I have a 150-600 C but haven't used it too much on my R7 - think I need to use it a bit more. My 100-400 is always on and I've kind of forgotten about my Siggy :facepalm:

    Agreed I never shoot birds under 1/1000th unless they are static!

    Thank you Dale, understand the caveats and compromises but reckon I will give it a go can always sell 1.4x if I don't get on with it. Better that than selling loads of gear to buy a 100-500 RF :)

    Canon R7 v Canon 90D

    Hi, I upgraded to R7 from 7DII last year and love it. Took a little getting used to mirrorless at 60, but even for an old boy like me it wasn't too difficult. I have the Siggy 150-600 C and it works absolutely fine with R7. Have heard about focusing issue but hasn't affected me. Embrace the future!

    The 100-500mm RF looks great but is too expensive for me at the moment So does anyone have any experience using the Canon R7 with an EF/RF adaptor plus the Canon 1.4x Mk 3 extender and the Canon EF 100-400mm MkII. I mainly shoot birds and was wondering if buying the 1.4 xtender was worthwhile?

    Thank you. My 7DII worked perfectly with Luminar so I'm going to try shooting Jpeg to see if that makes any difference

    OK that makes sense. Its a pity it does that as the JPEG looks like real life and the RAW looks odd. Will continue to investigate and will see how my 7DII is set up. Thank you

    Just bought Canon R7. Been taking photos last day or so but whenever I load them onto my laptop photo viewer or Luminar they initially look fine but after a couple of seconds loose colour / contrast and look for want of a better word look "washed out". This does not happen with images taken on...
