Thanks. I have sorted it now. it was a 16GB card, all the images except around a dozen that would not import. I eventually opened the card on the desktop, put an sd card on the desktop and copied them over. It's weird.

I am trying to import some Canon 7D raw files into Lightroom 5 and having trouble. Most of the files will import from the CF card, but about a dozen will not. I have tried copying the files to a SD card, but still LR will not import them. Am using an iMac with the latest updates. Any ideas?

I got a 7D and 100-400 L IS USM lens for birding and wondered if a Canon 1.4 converter would be a good buy. A friend of mine said that he noticed a drop in sharpness when he used one.

Thanks for your help guys. I think I am going to settle for a 7D and 100-400mm lens. I have used a big lens with a previous camera. It was tack sharp but not fast enough to keep focus on a flying bird.

Thank you for your replies. I do know that a "Good" camera does not make a good photographer. I also know that some cameras suit a particular type of photography. The one I use is not suited to photographing birds in flight, AF and tracking is just not up to it. Another tog on a shoot I went on...
