    Gifted lenses

My grandad has given me a few old film cameras and also some lenses. The lenses are mostly olympus and I have Nikon. I only have a kit lens and a 50mm which I've been using for a couple of years and I'm itching to try something new. Is there a way I can get these lenses, mostly wide angle, to...

Dropped Camera. Viewfinder blurry, photos fine.

Just called and looks like I'm eligible to claim on the insurance. Phew!

Yes, it makes me feel seasick! Haha. It does sound as though it's the pentaprism as suggested above which I guess means it's a write off. Ooh, I wonder about house insurance, would that cover it?

The trips to Iceland, number one in my list of places to visit! :sulk: Well, at least she can't ask to take my camera now.

Ah, yes you can, and that is working perfectly. I'd forgotten that! I really don't like it but I guess it will work as a temporary measure. :)

It's about £200-250 for a second hand D3200 or I could do a buy now pay later upgrade to the newest low end Nikon which is a D3400 for about £329. My teenage daughter has just messaged me and asked if she can go on a school geography trip for £750. It never rains.....

    I've just checked Fixation, they don't repair D3200s :(

I'd love an upgrade but I'd have to save up and that means living without a camera for a year or two. Roughly what kind of prices do Nikon charge for repairs? Is it likely to be 10s or hundreds of pounds?

Depends how much a new camera is. :D I tried the dioptric dial (Now I know that's what it's called and not a dia-wotsit!) but no change. :(

Not sure where was best to post this. I dropped my D3200 and now when I look through the view finder it's blurry, kind of like I'm drunk or swimming. It will autofocus fine and the photo on the playback looks perfectly fine. What have I done? I've tried the dia-wotsit on the viewfinder but it...

Nope :D Surely Nikon do a similarly priced equivalent? I can't find one though.

    Beginner lens choices

I have zero idea about using flash. I just can't get my head around it with 3 kids on the go, I feel like it would be a bit obtrusive unless we're doing specific portraits. But like I said, I know zero about it. :D I like the look of the 28mm actually, the street photography and landscape...

    Beginner lens choices

Thanks both. So, lets say I prefer the sound of the prime lenses, which would be best between the 20mm and the 35mm? Obviously the 35mm is cheaper so that's a bonus but will I see a big enough difference between that and my 50mm? Will the 20mm give distortion of faces close up? Am I likely to...
