i found a way of doing it, its down as multi i think on my sigma, not too sure on my canon as i have never done it. It keeps strobing like you describe with the shutter held down.

I have one, the quality is great, i bought a Permajet CISS for it and it produces great prints time and time again, i have profiled the printer to work with the paper and ink though.

get the iphone, its a great bit of kit and even better jailbroken.
