Back in 2017 I had to pay to have the shutter replaced on a D610, I used Fixation and the price was £345. I have a shutter needing replacing on a D750 and my latest quote is £250 from Sensor Clean in Manchester, I am going to take it in there and have heard very good things about them.
I just ordered yesterday from the Nikon store (£249, free delivery), it's still in stock as I am typing this. I usually wait for Panamoz but like you say there's not going to be that much of a difference in price and didn't want to wait 3 or 4 months. Nikon say delivery will be 2 to 4 weeks for...
Unfortunately not, I have checked. I bought the camera off this site about 5 years ago and it then came up in the recall so it had a free shutter replacement just after. It's been hammered at weddings though and just worn out again, still looks brand new so I'd like to keep it.
One of my D750's needs a shutter, where is everyone having them replaced? I remember sending a D610 into Fixation, cost £345. Just had a quote from a local repairer for £250.
I use this exact one. I use it for weddings with a Nikon D750 and 85mm attached to my belt. I've had it for almost 4 years and never had any issues with it, very well made, sturdy and comfortable.
If you are happy to wait though, Black Friday should be the best deal for you. In July, I bought 12 months LR and PS for £69.99 so I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same again later this month.
Huge difference for me when indoors shooting weddings, I always found the D610 would miss most of the bride coming down the aisle but the D750 doesn't. Outside and it's a different story, not a lot of difference at all I find.
I've been using IKEA's own brand this year for weddings. One set lasts me the full day (speeches and dancing). If you Google them, there's a lot of talk that are rebranded Eneloops. Whatever they are though, they are fantastic for £5.50.
