    Landscape photos with my lens?

Removed by Admin. Unnecessarily rude answer. Not everyone knows the answers. Instead of dismissing someone and sending them to youtube to learn the basics, why not help them learn instead.

    Advice on getting started

Not with that camera, but that's not a standard thing with MF obviously.

    Advice on getting started

Yup, film is the exact opposite of digital - expose to the left not expose to the right.

    1-Man Tents

Throwing another option in to the ring - DD Tarptent. It's small but very light - you use walking poles as the tent poles, so if you carry those already (they're great for hillwalking) you save that weight.

Beginner Today's adventure - not sure what went wrong? (Long exposure)

FWIW, avoid going over about f11 under any circumstances if you can help it (and want sharpness). Anything over that and you start to lose quality from diffraction.

Landscape Photography Step 1: (For the keen amature who has never done landscapes)

Landscape is really the only kind of photography that interests me (from a taking standpoint), so it's either suck it up and get up at 2.30, or have a 3 month hiatus. My shutter finger gets too itchy for the latter! I actually like getting up very early - you have the world all to your self for...

    4. A willingness to get up at really effing stupid times in the morning.

    Astro tips and timings.

This worked well for film but with modern high res sensors will rarely result in point stars. The NPF Rule is more accurate: (35 x aperture + 30 x pixel pitch) ÷ focal length = shutter speed in seconds. Pixel pitch = the camera sensor’s physical width in millimeters ÷ number of pixels in width...

    Torridon

Thanks guys, much appreciated. Cheers. That was taken right at the tip of the Shieldaig peninsula, an easy walk for such a cracking view. It would be amazing for sunset.

    Torridon

Well, a fun trip to Torridon, though the weather didn't play ball particularly well - almost too good in the day, and then a cloudy sunrise. The highlight was in fact an astonishingly relaxed otter in Shieldaig, who wandered up and down the beach and into a garden, where I managed to get within...

Good to know! I'll be going up before sunrise so I may well come back down the 'up' way to get the on-the-way shots :)

    Torridon

Awesome! That's the exact trail I plan on doing and it looks like a good choice. Lovely shots. I fully expect to be as knackered as you evidently were too, though hopefully I won't come a cropper as much

Ah, well I may well see you about. Fingers crossed for good light and weather eh? I'll be going up the Mountain Trail one morning if you want to carry my gear for me ;)

Haha. I'm not sure how much use I'd be the next day (or rather, that day), and the day after that after camping overnight. Maybe in the winter when the sunrise is at a more sociable hour. Besides, it's a matter of what one can get past the Committee.
