Hi Colin, the beach shot is the pick for me. I agree with the vignette but you've heard that. I'd boost the exposure slightly to get more detail back in the shorts and maybe crop a tiny bit off the bottom so it's not as central.
Well done for getting caught up Lynne, I'm still plugging away! I like the bike shot, nice and sharp and a slither of ground for perspective. Exposure is good too, plenty of detail in the shadows. I'd maybe be tempted to see what it looked like a couple of steps to the right to try and get a 2/3...
Thanks peter, the set up for this was just my kit lens reversed using a mounting ring, a tripod and a remote shutter. The only other thing was I used mirror lock up.
I prefer the first pic DK, the angle and positioning of the phone works better for me, my eyes immediately rest on the 30. nice reds, lighting and BG too. :)
love the idea for this Andy, and couldn't agree more. The pose works for me and its nice to see a different approach to lighting. Crit wise id say possibly a little more light around the top of the head and it looks a little cool to me, could well be my monitor though
second catch up image is for rich. I know this is going to be a marmite post, some people may not like it at all. I wanted to try and get a totally different shot to the ones I was taking that day and decided to go for a really slow shutter pan with just a slither sharp(ish) for an abstract...
first of all I want to apologise for my lack of activity on here recently, ive had to have a made catch up with life after returning from hol + had holiday shots to edit! Ive got a lot more time dedicate to TP now so time to push on and catch up! First catch up pic is for texture. This landed on...
Cheers Judi
Thanks Susie, I might have another look to see if I can improve the comp
cheers craig, I agree
thanks Allan
cheers Lynne, Ye I think I'll revisit this one, see if a lift of the shadows helps.
Cheers Andy
Thanks very much Paul.
No worries Graham, thanks for the crit. I was a little concerned about the lighthouse being a bit too central when I was shooting but where I was stood was the only opening to walk through from a car park, the rest was a wooden barrier so I couldn't move any...
sorry im at your thread a little late Allan, most has been said really. The square crop suits it really well, as does the placement of crumbs and fork. im glad you went for muted colours in this rather than ramping up the saturation, gives a really fresh, light looking image (y)
