Its not still under warranty, and a quick call to a repair shop advised the same as you. Buy another lens 2nd hand. Thanks for your help anyway.

Yaeh, when trying to focus either auto or manually it just wont go past a certain point, then after a few stronger twists manually its frees up for a while.

Hi, my 18-55 has started to stick sometimes whilst trying to focus, anyone had the same problem?

Cheers Jelster, for my sins I am an estate agent (said as if I was at an AA meeting). I will be buying a flash and a tripod, the pics I`ll be taking of warehouses is more for personal than work and would be just sections of the interior.
