Noise reduction in camera usually takes a second exposure of equal length to your actual exposure, ie if you take a pic of 5mins, the camera will then spend another 5 mins doing the noise reduction. For really long exposures this is a royal pain in the arse. Who wants to wait 2 hours for a 1...

Any tips please folks? I've tried a few times to capture the heat haze from various car's engines, but never seem to get what I'm looking for. Not a fab pic here, but hopefully gives an idea. I'd like to get the cars in the background seen through the heat haze of the first car or two...

Pity the weather was so poor... a friend and I drove all over the place looking for a gap in the cloud cover, but found nowt, so retired to a pub instead. At least it will be back again next year :)
