Photographing Mountain Biking - High Air / Tricks etc... FOCUS..

Hey, just saw this post from a wee while back and thought I would reply. As some have said, the 5D3 is more than capable of taking decent action shots once set up properly. Ai servo is a must, no way can the other modes get you good shots when it comes to action. Single point focus and...

Cycle race photographers whats wrong with them?

KIPAX, i assume you mean road cycle photographers are all a bit sour faced miserable guys. Pop along to a mountain bike race, especially DH and enduro, and see that we are the fun guys. Great atmosphere here with most of us heckling and shouting at the riders as much as the spectators! We are...

Don't know anything about an update but will have a look. The lens was bought brand new last month so should be all good and up to date.

Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG Art owners thread

Cheers guys. As to the DoF being paper thin, i accept that i will have the odd one that has missed focus or not sharp enough but these are coming out way off! I can take a sequence of 4 or 5 shots and they can be way off, as in missed focus entirely on the subject and caught the background or...

Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG Art owners thread

I have had the Sigma for about a month now and i am finding it very frustrating. I mainly shoot mountain bike racing and people/ pets and find it very inconsistent. With static subjects i find it super sharp at F1.4 and have got some fantastic results but anything moving it just misses focus...

Dog portraits tips and advice needed!

Cheers Cargo! I had a play with the 6d and i think you are right. For action shots i found it really tricky and not really up to the job. Thanks sticky tape. This was at 1/1600th if i recall and Ai servo at all times. Need a fast shutter to capture action like this..... ZIGGY_5TH NOVEMBER...

Canon 5D MKIII official owners/users thread, anything related to the 5D MKIII

Hi, Following on from the discussion above and the 5d3 AF. I have rented one out for a shoot this weekend and whilst fairly proficient with my camera (7d) the 5d3 is slightly different. Can anyone point me in the right direction for which case, tracking sensitivity etc that i may need for this...

Canon 5d3 settings for fast moving sport.

Evening folks, I have a very important shoot on Tuesday and didn't want to rely on my creaking old 7d so i have rented out a 5d3 and 70-200 f2.8 IS ii for a few days. My sport is downhill mountain biking and while i have my 7d set up perfectly i am struggling getting my head round all the...
