Mine was bought in 1981 a Canon F-1 from Comet ,later that year I went on holiday to New York when the exchange rate was good and bought a 70-200mm F/4 lens, a 24mm F/2.8 lens the motordrive back for it and then went to Flushing Meadows to the US tennis open to try it all out.Happy days.

    circular polarizing filters

I want to purchase a 77mm circular polarizing filter for use in landscape photography here in South Africa,it needs to be good quality to be used in conjunction with my Nikon D3s, Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8 and Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 lenses. It will probably have to be a slim profile for the wider end...

    LED flash?

Thanks for your prompt reply Garry and honest advice, bearing in mind what you say about the poor colour rendition then this is not the way to go for any form of portraiture,I will stick with the conventional flash.Cheers, Neil.

    Tiffen Steadicam Merlin

Thanks for your reply, since I first started looking into this question I've started to favour a shoulder mount such as the Zacuto Striker. My reasoning being it brings the Z-Finder closer to my eye for framing and focussing, the D3s can only film 5 minute segments at a time so tiredness through...

    Tiffen Steadicam Merlin

Since my original post I've done some online research and two mounts that look suitable are the Zacuto Striker and the Redrock Eyespy Balance, does anyone have experience of either of these two systems?

    Tiffen Steadicam Merlin

I am using a Nikon D3s plus Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8 lens along with the Zakuto Z-finder 2.5 for video work in Malawi.I am considering the Steadicam Merlin to aid my filming as opposed to using a tripod because some of the filming involves being in with lions who do not seem to like seeing a tripod...
