    Resizing to a print size

What are you trying to do? Your original image has to be the same aspect ratio as the size you want it to be, that is to say the lengths of the sides must be in the same proportions. If you want to end up with 18" x 12" the sides must be in those proportions, 18:12, before you resize it. The...

    Resizing to a print size

Yeah, size vs. resolution is totally mindbending until one day you wrap your head around it and it's suddenly as clear as day. (I had the need to get into a bit of video editing recently where I discovered there's even the concept of pixel aspect ratio :bang:) But sounds like you've got...

    Resizing to a print size

Print size is the size you've just resized it to. If you've resized it to 18 x 12 at 300dpi then the print size is 18 x 12 at 300dpi.

How To Do This On Photoshop?

Agree with Alastair, I think it's cut out bits of the different coloured areas of each letter and fill as required, rather than blending modes, although that's the effect it creates. Then some sort of grunge texture overlay - they're all over the internet for free. I did a similar job...

    Photoshop CS4 Bargain?

To be honest I don't think there's any real way to get genuine a bargain on Adobe, other than with student discount. A little while back I bought what seemed to be a kosher CS4 from an eBay dealer (with lots of good feedback) for a massive discount on the normal retail price. When it arrived it...

    Quick Wordpress Question?

It's a long time since I've used either, but I believe wordpress.com has restrictions on things like iFrames and other embedded code that wouldn't exist on your own install. In fact, here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/ Whereas with control of your own source, as you suggest, an...

    £200 for first DSLR?

It's getting a little long in the tooth but I think the Nikon D70 is a great little camera which I'm sure could be had within budget. And it has the motor to drive all your nice second hand lenses that the D40 etc can't manage. I don't know what kind of lens the A200 generally ships with, but...

Advice needed - FX or DX

Just to throw something into the mix, I have a friend who is a making a professional living as a popular, fully-booked wedding photographer using a Nikon D90 and Sigma 18-50 2.8. Now, I'm a total amateur and can't claim to have much photography career insight, but might it be worth using the...
