A local Facebook page has a lot of old photos from 20-30-40 years ago, and I often think why don't I have any like that? I like taking night-time photos and when we moved here I took quite a few of local shops and takeaways. It will be interesting to revisit them, if I last long enough....

New firmware update (1.40) for the Z5 came out yesterday. I've installed it painlessly. Apparently it improves the AF eye-tracking, amongst other things....

This really chimes with me, Had an SLR in the 80s, then with children and busy life stuck to bridge cameras, point and shoots etc. In my mid- 50s my eyesight began to deteriorate and I couldn't see the rear screen on my camera. Got myself a cheap DSLR a Nikon 3200 and that wee dioptre knob next...

I really like that. Quite a contrast between the dark and the light.

A number of years ago now, and I wasn't there for the photographs, but we took a boat trip near the Skye Bridge and saw quite a bit of wildlife, including seals and otters. The otters were completely unfazed by the boat, happily going about their business.

I really like that first swan one - the focus on the head / neck, the bow wave - it all works really well for me.

What are you planning for accommodation? We've camped and caravanned in several places. It would be difficult to go far wrong, but Montreuil-Bellay was a favourite, we've been twice. . There's a decent restaurant at the campsite, providing regional fayre. We stumbled on it by accident...
