If you could put the D7100's DR and the D7200 high iso sensor into a 7D II body it would be perfect. For some reason Nikon don't want to make the D400 everyone is crying out for. I would say the 7DMKII has "enough" DR and iso performance to make some very nice pics and autofocus and...
I have a D3200 - the four limitations are AA filter, preventing full use of pixel density, noise about ISO 800 starts to impact dynamic range, The Viewfinder is small and dark, and the Autofocus system leaves a lot to be desired.
The D7100 solves all those problems apart from the noise above...
Well, I borrowed my friends copy of the Nikon 105, and spent some time doing some back to back tests, using a pair of flashes in manual slave mode to keep the light consistent. Turns out you are right Richard, the Tokina is not really f16 ! - the apparent sharpness boost is due to the aperture...
I agree that DXO Mark tests don't tell you the whole story about a lens, how it handles, if it suffers from zoom creep, if the autofocus is inaccurate or slow or other issues that effect lenses. However I buy a lot of second hand lenses, and always shoot them against an iso 12233 pattern to...
My own tests, and DXO Mark, disagree. I will show you the DXO Mark data, From the lenses tested on the Nikon D810 :

Tokina - Still acceptable at F22 and at F16 sharpness is only just starting to be an...
Tokina 100mm 2.8 - Mainly because it is still sharp a few stops lower ( f16 ) than any other macro lens I know, allowing a larger depth of field. CA is a bit of a b****r though at times.
I very carefully considered a Samsung NX1. Samsung are one of the biggest electronics manufactures out there, and they have a long history of getting it right, I have been a user of their phones for a long time. The NX1 is, by many metrics, one of the best DX cameras out there right now. There...
