I read recently here that OS 4.2 on the iPad rendered card reader useless due to lower voltage/power saving. Does anyone know if this is resolved with the latest release OS4.3.

Contact the organizers and let them know who your shooting for; ie publication or agency. I guess the agency or publication would/should normally arrange this for you.

I would say the first shot is taken with the more expensive one.
My reasoning is the wall bends at the top on the second shot. Although it's a zoom at an extreme, I don't think that should happen with the Nikon. It's seems sharper with a bit more contrast.
