Anyone know anything about this lens

I have the Sigma 24-70 Macro, while I cant comment on the real reason the 24mm is at the extended length i can say that it is not to "peak" around the lens hood. The hood is attached to the very front of the lens and is carried forward and back during zooming, no change in distance between it...

    Sigma 50-150mm f2.8 Worth it?

This question is actually for my brother-in-law who has gone to the dark side and uses a Nikon D300 ;) (PC version, it felt right for him :D) He is considering the Sigma 50-150 as a walk around with a bit of reach plus getting the Sigma 1.4TC as well. Has anyone got experience with this lens...

    50D Owners Thread - Anything 50D related

Iv just upgraded from the 400D to 50D too. Couldn't possibly be happier. Well maybe if I could pull out some shots like the ones above.

Is the 50D worth the extra £300-£400 over the 40D?

Iv just done the upgrade from 400D to 50D last weekend and love it. The extra MP are nice but the rear screen was the clincher for me over the 40D. Its just beautiful, especially from the 400D. Prices are coming down at the moment so hunt around, there are deals to be made on the 50D that make...

    40D or D300

Iv been having the exact same debate with myself. 50D or D300. My tipping point is that I already have a couple of decent Canon mount lenses so the full switch is too expensive. But if your starting fresh I actually prefer the ergonomics of the Nikon. As everyone says have a hold and play with...

Does anyone actually like there own images?

I once heard it said that art is never finished just eventually abandoned. I think its likely the perfect image will never occur but surely perfection is only part of why we enjoy photography. If you don't enjoy it, spend your time on something you do enjoy.

    Portrait lens

I also have the Sigma 24-70 and find it useful for portraits, the zoom gives flexibility when space is limited. On the note of space if you are limited with space and your 50mm requires you to back up a lot for full length shots then the 85mm is definitely the wrong way to go, it will require...

    Best value fisheye

I recently got a Tamron 11-18mm UWA for my 400D. Lots of fun with a pleasing amount of barrel distortion at 11mm, for artistic effect. I love it and use it much more frequently than my 90-300mm for cityscapes. Just to add to your purchasing confusion.

    Night club lenses - canon 350d - Stigmas...(NeWbIe ALERT!!!)

I use the Sigma 24-70 F2.8 often for gigs but using ambient lighting is always a problem. Its about the best you will do without going to a prime lens or over £1000. May not be wide enough for groups unless youve got room to back up. Personally I use flash when possible and go up on the F stops...

Stupid question of the year ......

The lens throws a round circle of light but the actual sensor is rectangular. Film is rectangular purely for storage purposes and digital sensors follow this norm. Vignetting is a perfect example of how the circular light is put onto the rectangular sensor. Good question though, love the...
