    What Monitor for Photo Editing

Thanks for a great read. I've been getting frustrated having a poor screen to print control over my photography work, and this looks like a much cheaper alternative to getting an iMac. I am planning on using the U2413 with my current laptop. What kind of graphic card/processor limitations of my...

Freezing motion with studio lighting. Please help..........

Yep, you could potentially shoot for a whole second and still freeze motion with flash. The key is: high flash power has a longer flash duration than a low flash power. A bit like momentum. Get the lights as close to your subjects as you can and turn the power down. Can't say whether your...

    Good external monitor for editing

It'll be a while before I can afford a MacBook or iMac. Can anyone recommend a (preferably inexpensive) external monitor that I could use with my laptop, that gives closest colour display for soft proofing, colour calibration etc? Must be HDMI compatible.

Mamiya RZ67 from Japan - import costs

Thanks! Shame it doesn't have the 110mm 2.8 I'm after but I'll keep my eye on it.

Mamiya RZ67 from Japan - import costs

Thanks all! Yeah I wasn't sure which group to post in, and have some good responses here. Some food for thought. I'll definitely only consider it if it appears to be a bargain. Otherwise I'll continue to look within the EU only. Thanks!

Mamiya RZ67 from Japan - import costs

I'm after the above camera and have seen quite a few on eBay at a good price in Japan. Does anyone have any experience getting cameras from Japan - how much import charges usually are etc.? Thanks

Sekonic reflective query. What is the metering coverage?

Thanks. That's precisely what I wanted to know. :-)

    Hand grip for Mamiya 645j

Thanks for confirming that. As I suspected. It appears this one can still activate the shutter? I'm hoping to be a little more flexible when I'm out and have another hand free while framing and firing the shutter. All the best.

    Hand grip for Mamiya 645j

Hi folks, I have a Mamyia 645j that I would like to get a hand grip for. Does anyone know if the hand grips for the M645 will also work on this model? I have seen one available here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mamiya-M645-Hand-Grip-pistol-type-/281307643278 and was wondering if it was possible...

Sekonic reflective query. What is the metering coverage?

Thanks, I thought it would be something like that. I know it's not the most practical option in most cases, but I wanted to bear the coverage in mind if I ever had to use it. Example: flash-lit subject indoors with view through window being exposed to exposure of choice.

Sekonic reflective query. What is the metering coverage?

There are often situations where you don't have a solid background you can reach to take an incident reading, perhaps a cityscape in the distance and you're on a tower with the subject in the shade. I'm not saying I wouldn't consider using the incident reading, but I'm curious to how the...

Sekonic reflective query. What is the metering coverage?

I'm using a Sekonic L-308S for some outdoor film shots. I'll be taking a reflective reading of the background followed by a flash incident reading. Does anyone know what coverage the meter has when taking reflective readings? Will it average out a whole scene? Is it better to get as close as...

Most suitable lens on 6x4.5 for portraits?

Hi, what would be the most suitable lens on 6x4.5 for portraits that include most of the legs upwards, in a subject that is 1-2 meters away? Would a standard 75mm be suitable? Thanks for any input

    Tips for no light meter?

Thanks for the tip Nod. I tried a view out of the window instead of a dimly lit room, and made sure the frame and metering were the same - yep, almost identical readings now. Thanks for that, my X10 will be my portable light meter.
