A bit daft, I don't know anything about kids, or portrait photography, but couldn't you get the 5 month old leaning against something, that discrete and hidden behind her? a stack of cushions of some kind?

I definitely don't regret it either. She has taken some brilliant shots. We are into different types of photography though but makes it a bite more interesting

Need a bunch of people with their monitor correctly calibrated I think to come and help us, I know your not going to get the same display on different displays but they should be close
