Mine does, set on either S1 or S2, but I tend to use R602 wireless triggers.

F2.8 lens or stick with kit lens?

One of the main advantages is that the Tamron lens you're looking at will allow an aperture of F2.8 through the whole zoom range of the lens instead of f3.5 at the lower end and f5.6 at the higher zoom range of your kit lens.

    Lens advice for Nikon

FWIW I'd go for a 24-85 over the 16-85 purely for the fact that it would start to set you up for FF if you went down that route. Then, your 10-20mm would be your WA lens.

    Lens advice for Nikon

Hello to a fellow D200 user. FWIW, I've got a Nikon 18-70mm that I've used frequently (until I purchased a 28-70 2.8) and got great results from that, although I did miss a slightly longer zoom so the 18-105mm would cover that and, if you're not going to be shooting much in low light, would...

    Nikon 28-70 problem

Intermediate update I've been in contact with the seller and she has agreed to pay £140 towards the repair of the lens. To say I am over the moon at this gesture of goodwill is a slight understatement. So, should you ever buy anything off Angie_1402 on ebay, she really is a very genuine person...

    Nikon 28-70 problem

Quick update for those interested. Tried cleaning contacts and made no difference at all so sent off to Fixation for a repair estimate. They rang me today to say that the silent wave motor has packed up and it's going to cost £420 to fix it all. To say I am gutted would be a HUGE understatement.

    Nikon 28-70 problem

I must confess that I hadn't tried that at all as it did the same thing on two bodies. I'll give it a go though as anything is worth a try to save a £350 repair bill!! What do I use for cleaning materials?

    Nikon 28-70 problem

Hi Brian, All shots from Wednesday were spot on, as you'd expect with this lens. They're on Flickr if you wanted a look. I guess that's the way of all things though; they work fine up until something breaks.

    Nikon 28-70 problem

Spoken with the seller and it was working perfectly when it left them and they've never had any problems with it so I guess it decided to go wrong when I took delivery of it. So, it's off to a repairers to get it fixed. Can anyone recommend a good repair facility that can turn a lens round...

    Nikon 28-70 problem

That's what I was thinking it might be, just looking for confirmation I guess. Gutted though as I've only had the lens since Monday, but bought 2nd hand so guess I've learnt a lesson.

    Nikon 28-70 problem

Gone to use my Nikon 28-70 f2.8 this morning and it's not auto-focussing at all. All I can hear is a whirring noise from the lens. I've tried it on a D200 and a D50 and the result is the same, whereas all other lenses I've got focus as they should. Can anyone diagnose the problem from this...
