    Olympus OM-D E-M5, E-M1, E-M10 - Mk1, Mk2 & Mk3 Owners Thread

Suggested primes would be the Oly 17mm or the Panny 20mm, although see the complaint on the previous page.

    Olympus OM-D E-M5, E-M1, E-M10 - Mk1, Mk2 & Mk3 Owners Thread

Now I'm jealous so presume you mean the f/ 2.8 varieties. I'm not even 'properly' in here, I just have an OM-D sensor!

    Olympus OM-D E-M5, E-M1, E-M10 - Mk1, Mk2 & Mk3 Owners Thread

I've currently got all of my (significant) Canon DSLR gear for sale on eBay as I'm fed up of the missed moments because I don't want to carry the bulk with me very often. I'm looking at getting an E-PL5 twin kit (14-24 II and 40-150 free 8GB card) and a 60mm f2.8 macro from Bristol Cameras which...

    Macro lens/kit question

I've just started shooting insect macros, can only use natural light currently, with 24-105L and tubes. The need to use high ISO is annoying, as is having a very close working distance. Does having a short working distance mean that the relative DOF is shallower than say a 100mm 2.8 from a...

Wide angle lens - Tamron or Sigma?

I've owned both get Sigma and now Canon. The decentring on the Sigma was unworkable, softer left side than the right, it also wouldn't focus correctly unless on live view despite being sent back to Sigma and told it was working. The same problems were there on 2 friends Canon bodies too, not...

    New purchase help

Thanks, I don't think the loss of quality is enormous and I definitely cannot afford a 1D or a 5D3, so 7D looks most likely.

    New purchase help

So, I'm having to skrt out a replacement for my dearly departed 5Dc, and I'm down to 2 options but to help me get assistance I'm also including the type of stuff I shoot. My two options are the 7D or 5D Mk2. I do shots of family and stuff as normal, I like railway photography and sport...

    600D digital zoom

I agree with the usual switching it off approach, but full HD is only just over 2MP and from an 18MP sensor, if you are going to lose quality then switch it off, but in this case it would seem not, it just seemed a shame that you couldn't progress to 3x, rather than 1x or 3x, as you lose quality...

    600D digital zoom

For video it can yes, but I was just wondering why, unlike camcorders and the like with digital zoom, it can't start from 1.

    600D digital zoom

So, ahead of my purchase of the above (primarily for still photography) I noticed lots of videos about with digital zoom, something that makes the 600D differ from the 550D. Now I'm sure there is a very reasonable technical reason behind this, but why can't the digital zoom start from 1, so it's...

Think my beloved 5D Classic has died

Yep, it's not ideal but I have to look at all available options. My wife tells me today that an online catalogue (that i routinely slag off) she is with have a 600D on a 12 month interest free thing. The price isn't bottom dollar, but it gives me another option.

Think my beloved 5D Classic has died

To be fair to Calumet the 35 would go towards the repair bill to fix it. I don't know many places that would send off a camera, get it looked at and send I back to the local store for free.

Think my beloved 5D Classic has died

Whilst I understand what you're all saying I'm loathe to pay another 30 pounds or so for another quote as that will be £65 spent with no remedial action at all. Maybe if I can list the item as spares or repairs based on the report I may get some money back for it.
