    Daughters wedding

Same situation for me. My daughter is getting married later this year, and whilst they will be using a pro photographer for the formal shots, I'm going to be doing the informal / candid shots. Think there may be disposable cameras as well.

Nikon D90 - how to change default JPEG sharpness?

Thanks very much. Off on a Med cruise later this week, so didn't want to mess up all those shots of Rome

Nikon D90 - how to change default JPEG sharpness?

Hi all Read through the Owners Manual again this weekend as well as the camera menu, and I'm missing how to do this completely. :bonk: I'd like to change the default camera settings for JPEG sharpness, ideally to increase the sharpness by a couple of levels. Is it possible to do this...

Search Engines - why is my site address different?

Thanks everyone. I'll check out the Google SEO factsheet. My site is hosted on Hostmonster, and I think they use Apache, but I'm not sure. So I'll check into the Control Panel as well. Many thanks again!

Search Engines - why is my site address different?

Can anyone please explain why my website address appears differently on Google and MSN? For example, on Google, my site address appears as http://www.mysite.com, but on MSN and Lycos, it appears as http://mysite.com. Is there anything I can check and /or change in Dreamweaver to understand...

Thanks, I must have missed that somewhere.

D90 top panel display - is this right?

This must seem a daft question, but hopefully someone can tell me if my LCD panel is OK, or if there is something odd. The shutter speed display shows full numbers for two digit shutter speeds (e.g. 30, 15). But when it goes up to faster speeds, for example 1/250th, the display reads as 25o...

    JPEG Advice needed

Thanks to everyone for so much advice. I was initally very wary of trying raw, but from the advice you've given me here, I'm going to give this a try. It seems a shame not to get the best out of my camera, and I didn't realise that so much file info was lost when shooting JPEG. It'll also...

    JPEG Advice needed

Thanks all, for some great advice. I agree with corbystock, that because I'm trying to re-learn a lot of what i've forgotten, I should really stick with my current JPEG settings for now and try to get things as right as I can when taking the shot.

Opinions on how a photography society should be run-am I taking the wrong view here?

I'd certainly go for Option 2 as well. I'm also looking for a camera club to join in Nottingham but haven't found one yet. What I am looking for is a club where everyone feels they can contribute, share ideas, receive help, guidance and constructive feedback on their technique, composition...

    JPEG Advice needed

I've been following the current discussions in this forum about Raw v JPEG, but would like your advice specifically on JPEG. I've set my camera setting to shoot JPEG, Large, Fine. But I'm unsure as to whether this is the best setting for me. I've also read Ken Rockwell's excellent guide to...

    How often do you defrag?

Agree. I've been using Diskeeper Pro Premier for 2 years now, and it's been one of the best buys I made. Runs quietley in the background with minimum memory drain, and also works very well on Vista 64bit, which I've got. Keeps your MFT nicely defragged as well, so no need to do any...

Best place to get a domain from?

I'd certainly recommend 123-Reg.co.uk for your domain name, as someone else has also posted here. I host my site in the USA with Hostmonster. I was a bit concerned about moving my site from the UK, as it is business critical - I previouslyy hosted with Pipex, now I think they're called...

    Returning to photography

Hi all I've finally decided to get back into photography after a long absence of many years, during which time I've only been doing basic holiday and family snaps with a Canon G3. I'm very impressed by all the friendly support and advice which is offered on this forum, and this really...
