I certainly will. It's a slightly longer focal length than I really wanted, but for the price it was a no brainer, and now I know it's not the camera that is at fault. I would like to get a general purpose everyday lens, preferably with a nice zoom range, not too bothered about prime lenses...

I have done exactly that on the flash. When it's up it works fine, and once it been released and put back down, it will pop back up intermittently when needed a few times before it stops working again.
