what is the defect meant to be like? i have the 120-400 with a serial number in that range and now and again mine hunts for no particular reason especially at the 400 end. it does it quite rarely and i havent found that i have been missing shots or anything...... what have others been told when...

exactly what i do, i have 3 four gb cards and a couple of 2 gb cards that all live in my bag - all various ages and speeds but it got the capacity just wouldnt like to loose a whole days worth of pics, half a day is bad but liveable.......

a couple of genuine nikon batteries (online) will prob be worth the punt and i would prob use them when im at home anyway. The hand warmers is a good idea, and yeah i will contact nikon's tech dept monday see what they say!

and massive budgbets for the best gear....... I should be ok, my brother took a D40 snowboarding once and that was about -6 celsius and he didnt bother doing anything special and it still works fine.... surely if im carefule with the 90 it will survive!

yeah for sure. i think im gonna get a peli 1500 and a few genuine nikon batteries and see what happens. not going to bother with a grip cos i cant see the point. the only bonus would be the aa capability. cool :D *better get to see the flipping northern lights* ed

I was really tight and put a Canon A series SLR rubber eyepiece on my D(0, it fits pretty tight and does the same thing and cost me 99p on ebay. I brought it for my AV1 originally but tried it on my nikon and its handy. Im a tight arse *** lol

Umm..... I cant stretch to prime telephoto for the Nikon so thought I might get some for the old Canon A series. Was wondering what peoples experiences are with various prime FD lenses? i.e. 200mm f4, 200mm f2.8, 135mm f2.8, 300mm f4 etc etc I wantr to try my hand at wildlife...
