    Trick Kayaking

One from a few I got earlier this year for a subject challenge of 'water'. These are short Kayaks used for stunts. Folk paddle upstream to the bottom of the weir/waterfall and then use the rushing water and its hills as take off ramps to somersault or roll mid-air. Awesome to watch but tiring...

    ISO noise

Thanks folks. I must kick that old habit then, but it won't be easy.

    ISO noise

I have searched for the answer to this but can't find it. As a film photographer I didn't like 400asa film as I found it too grainy. I used 100 in the summer and 200 in the winter, that way it covered most of my needs. The problem is I still hate to use anything over 200 ISO in digital...

    C&Cing photographs...

I am reluctant to give crit as some on here really are experts at it. Finest of details noticed and PP advice that goes over my head at about 3000ft. Having read this I will start to do so. I will also post some up myself for C&C, as up to now I have felt them to be not that good and easily, if...

    Shutterspeeds for panning shots (bikes)

Sounds like a good starting point. You need enough speed to freeze the bike as they vibrate and you can lose some sharpness. The longer the lens/distance from subject the better for the blurred background. Think about waving a stick about, the end is moving a lot faster than your arm, the longer...

    Off To Scotland

Sea Eagle flew about 8ft above our tent when at Uig, Portree, Isle of Skye. Might be a bit too far from F.William but the Golden eagles were in abundance too and soared all day around the hills there. By far the best we have done on one of our three tours of the Highlands.

Anyone care to give it a try?

Glad I wasn't drinking tea when I got the McDs one. PMSL

Should the weather be a big factor?

Sunny weather for postcard landscapes. Yes most of the time they look more inviting with the sun shining. The biggest problem is detail, burnt out in the sky nearer the light source and lost in the darkness of shadows. HDR can sort that. You are inviting people 'in' to your images all the time...

Right everyone... What was your first ever computer??

Wow! You had a stick, must be upper class, we had to use our fingers in the dust. My "real" first PC was a Tiny. Can't remember the model No. It had 128RAM, 600hz processer and a 17GB HDD. It could cope with anything at the time (1999) and I used to try to keep the HDD content to less than...
