    calling canon lens experts.....

I bought an adapter over ebay so that I could use an FD macro lens that I used with my old A1. For Macro work you can unscrew the crap adapter lens which means you lose infinity focus but that's fine for macro work and it means you don't have the IQ loss that the rubbish adapter glass would...

Photography Program on TV Tonight (Sunday)

The abandoned sanitorium next week looks like it could be good. I've not got sky so I asked a mate of mine if he could record them for me. It'll give me something to do when i should be working.

    Canon 17-85 to 17-55 2.8 - Worthy Upgrade?

I went to check out your auction as I quite like the idea of the 10-20mm Sigma that you have for sale but now i'm a bit torn between putting in a bid for that or the Fireman Sam telephone you're also selling :D

How well do you see colour?

4 for me. Cool game. Wish I could see something other than coloured bars in front of my eyes now though

    RobH 52

That's a nice picture. It's got such a lot of depth. You could almost walk through it.

    My first timelapse, Miami.

That is pretty awesome. I really enjoyed that.

    Walkaround lens

I realise that this one has a thread of it's own but I just wondered what you thought about the Sigma 17-70mm OS HSM. It stands around £309 although I didn't think it had been released yet but seems to have been according to the website. It looks to be a fair old prospect although I know I had...

    Tripods

I ordered the Redsnapper 284 with the ball head today. I'm looking forward to it arriving although judging by all of the comments i've read i'm not likely to be disappointed. I've read that tripod page before and I could well imagine myself spending more than I need on tripods. I thought it...

    Tripods

I believe that's the same as the first tripod in your previous post but without the head. Your going to want a decent head to mount the camera and the 3 way head you were originally looking at looks excellent although I'm inclined towards the ball head myself. 3-way, ball, head, mount -...

    Tripods

One has four section legs and the other has 3 section legs. The one with 4 sections folds slightly smaller but I would imagine that the 3 section will be slightly more stable. Personally I think i'm going to buy myself the 284 with the ballhead in the next day or so. Looks like a fantastic...

    Hi everyone

Hi guys. I'm pretty new to the forum and thought i'd say hello. It's been a while since I went near an SLR so I've recently picked up a 30D and hope to learn a few things. I'll probably end up reading more than posting so that I can pick up a few tips. It's been great looking around so...

    Walkaround lens

Thanks very much for all of the help. I'm still a bit stumped on what to go for at the moment but I feel like I might be better off waiting a bit to get some cash together for the 24-105 L. I've looked at some of the options and I really like the 17-55 however it's an EF-s and I imagine that at...

    Walkaround lens

I hope this hasn't come up too often but I was looking for a bit of guidance with regard to choosing a good everyday walk around lens. At the moment I have a 30D, 18-55, Sigma 70-300, and a 50mm 1.8. I want a lens I can just attach to the camera and take for a walk. At the moment I usually...

Wildlife photographer of the year, possible fraud.

I was pretty stunned when I first saw that photograph. I found it to be absolutely amazing. It would be a shame to find that it was actually faked. Regardless of the circumstances in whch it was taken I still find it to be a brilliant image even if it isn't eligible as a wildlife photo.
