Thanks again. Makes sense. Yes, I agree the red circles are above each other. I was being objective in my original post as it was actually somebody else, who it would suit very much if the mounting bolt lines up with the 3rd or 4th intake, that said it.
Thank you. If members of the forum could let me know which air intake port the mounting bolt hole lines up with to your eyes, I would be extremely grateful. There is a reason I am asking the question which I will explain later.
Thanks, Stephen. The exact position of the mounting is actually in a line in between the 1st and 2nd air intake ports, slightly to the left of the first air intake from the right. So to your eyes is the engine mounting in line with and under the 1st air intake port from the right or the 3rd/4th...
Thanks for your replies.Much appreciated. Distortion in my expectations? Please could you clarify. To your eyes which air intake does the engine mounting line up with?
Hi all. Please can you help. I'd like to know what the technical term is for when a certain object in a picture doesn't appear to line up with what it does in real life. I have a picture of a V12 cylinder engine and the engine mounting in the engine block (red circle below) should line up with...
Please can someone tell me how to get the shutter count on a Canon 1D Mark 111? I've used camerashuttercount.com and I was wondering if this is accurate? Thanks very much in advance for any replies.

Thanks very much for all your replies. It seems the Non VC is the one to go for and good VFM. Yes, I would like the Nikon 24-70 f2.8 but it costs £1250 which is precisely 5x what I can get the Tamron for at £250 new. The extra 7mm at the wide? end is useful too.
I would much prefer to buy something used with the original box, manuals etc. Not a fair analogy but used Rolex and high end watches can go for hundreds and sometimes thousands less (or more with box and papers depending which way you look at it) without the box and paperwork.
Thanks for your replies. Much appreciated. He'd probably go for a 18-70 then. He was hoping to get something with f2.8. Would you recommend either the Tamron 17-50 f2.8 or the Tokina 17-50 f2.8? He wants something that has excellent build quality and is quiet. If the build on these lenses is not...
