I often recommend Fast Stone Image Viewer. It's free, and easy to use. I also use it for quick viewing of pictures before I go into PS

I have hundreds of images I took with a Pentax film camera in the 70's & 80's. Every so often I scan one to digitise, but I never seem to get it quite right. Scanned image to TIFF @ 1600 on an HP Photosmart. Are there settings others use?
