That’s true but but the advantage of mirrorless is that the AF will also keep the eye in focus as the depth of field of shooting a running dog ( nearer) will be different to photographing a falcon at distance.
I think it’s because the F mount was so old, Canon changed the size of their mount when they switched from FD to EF. Having a larger mount gives more flexibility and less compromises in designing the optics of a lens AFAIK
The key points are you are retired so you presumably have more time to waste than most! :D If you want to maximise your chances then aim to go in on an early morning, when there’s sunshine. My rule is even if I don’t get any nice photos at least I had some exercise and there’s no crystal ball...
For some people the read speed is important I.e how long it takes to transfer from card to computer. It’s one thing to transfer an 8GB slow card and another day to transfer a 128Gb slow card!! :)
I used to think that but modern AI noise reduction is making that less so plus newer sensors. However there are still limitations by shooting at high ISO and it all comes down to what you are using it for. Shoot high ISO in bright light(for fast shutter speeds) is very different to high ISO at...
Hoya HD for most lenses unless you are spending huge amounts on super primes for all that sharpness.BTW you don’t need a UV filter unless you are shooting film. Clear protection filter is enough.
From my personal experience the best olive oil was from a friend of a friend in Portugal who gave me a bottle that was freshly pressed from their farm. Nothing I have ever bought in a supermarket comes close. It’s a well known secret that there isn’t enough olive trees to even remotely come...

In a nutshell if Canon at the very least don’t officially give an IP rating all you get is a vague weather sealed marketing claim. These cameras are now like mini computers so moisture whether from condensation or ingress are going to cause issues with the electronics. My advice keep it dry as...
Not a user of the R system but theoretically get the better camera R5mkii. It’s got the better electronic shutter and accelerator chip and you could also use smaller RAW files. It’s better to have it and not need it than the other way around.
