    Photography Ban on Glasgow Subway?

Some recent madness in the works that I see hasn't a thread (or perhaps haven't seen). The story: http://www.amateurphotographer.co.uk/photo-news/538755/photography-on-underground-set-for-outright-ban Those new laws: http://www.spt.co.uk/cms/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Proposed_Byelaws.pdf...

    Any Excel experts out there?

If you want to use a list on another sheet tab for data validation then you will need to define a named range. If it's Excel 97-2003 that's being used, then this can be done by going to Insert -> Name -> Define and then putting the name of your list at the top and then putting the cell...

    Storing/Naming/Filing your photos on PC

I need to get a system. I tend to just copy everything over from the memory cards into a new folder called Photos01, Photos 02, etc as they get full. Should delete the crap and burn the 'possibles' to CD, ton free up space on the MacBook.

The best photo you've ever taken...

Looking over my photos, I think this may be the best one I've taken, if only because the photo was one of those grab it or lose it forever shots.

    Overrun with strange visitors!

I had a photo of three girls walking down the Royal Mile in Edinburgh, promoting their show last year. Not the best of photos, I think, but someone added it as a favourite. Intrigued, I looked at them and saw that there was nothing unusual about their photostream. Then I saw their favourites...

    Which PP Tool?

I've been using an old version of Photoshop CS2 on my Windows PC to edit my photos. However, I now have an MacBook Pro and I'd prefer to cast off Windows once and for all, which would mean getting a new PP tool. I see things like Photoshop CS5, Aperture 3, Lightroom 3, and Elements 7, and I...

    Building a website?

It would depend on what you are wanting the website to do. There's a gulf in effort between something that just displays some data and one that lets the user intereact with it. If it's just some sort of CV site, you could easily make one using a blogging tool like WordPress and using Pages -...

Which other forums do you visit?

I'm a member of loads of forums. Far too many. Some programming related, some web design related, but mostly book related, one of which I run myself.

    Film, Antichrist...anyone seen it?

I saw it at the cinema last year, and it's certainly von Trier's most attractive looking film, shotwise. Not really a contest, mind, given the hand held qualities of other films like Breaking The Waves and Idioterne. That opening scene is beautiful and the accompanying music creates a harmony...

    Tutorial Zoo Photography Tips.

I wish I'd thought to look for some tips on zoo photography before today as, at a loose end, I visited Edinburgh Zoo, and it doesn't look like any of the 400+ pictures are going to be kept. Still, the zoo's only an hour and a half away, so I can always get back and try again. Light, glass, and...

    Suggested Camera Bags

Thanks, guys. I'll have a look into all of these. I don't really have any preference, so it will be good to weigh up the pros and cons of each.

    Suggested Camera Bags

My current Lowepro 100 is now too small for what gear I've got. Here's the inventory: Canon 450D Canon 18-55mm IS Canon 70-300mm IS USM Canon 100mm USM Macro Canon 430 EX II Speedlite MacBook Pro 15" I'm now looking to get a camera bag that can accommodate the camera/lenses/light...

Picking The Right Canon Macro Lens

I've ordered it now. Probably not the best time of year, what with all the holidays and weekends. I'm enjoying building my kit up. Think it will have to be a light next. EDIT: By the way, if anyone is interested in the Canon 60mm macro, Argos are selling a few on eBay for less than £240.
