I got the 4 section yesterday purely for the reasons as stated above, shorter when all packed up - if you need the extra fully extended height and can live with it being longer when not in use go for 3, if not, 4 :)

Well no harm in trying it out, like FITP said, put a little time into one and id say you can do as good as a bought one.

Seemed very cheap but im pretty sure Sigma Af means, for Sigma cameras not Canon? I have the Canon version. Big HMMM, but if Nikon flashes (for eg) work with any camera when used with Cactus triggers etc then will this flash not work the same if not used on the cameras hot shoe, if so, I think...
