    z8 with 500mm fl. f4 or Canon r5 with with 500mm f4 m2

I have that canon combination and it's fantastic, but I'm sure the Nikon would be too. For me, it's about being able to change settings on the camera without thinking too much and I'm so used to Canon that it's instinctive. I'm sure if I magically switched to Nikon or Sony then I would...

    Wellies and alternatives???

My feet have been enjoying a pair of https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07FRX7J1G/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 this winter for sitting on a freezing cold boat for hours. Not as comfy as walking boots but beautifully warm and waterproof in a couple of inches of water...

    Hide étiquette

[was going to start a new thread but found this one so thought I'd resurrect instead!] How long is it reasonable to sit at a great seat in in a busy hide if there are people waiting at the back of it, wanting to do some shooting? I think the sliding scale is something like: a - as long as I...

    Your personal post-processing process...

wildlife and sports photographer with an R5 so not many keepers and huge files. Cards into card reader. Open in FastRawViewer Bin all the OOF, obviously less good pics from a burst - probably about ½ - ¾ of files go straight into the bin Import the ones left into Lightroom, onto an external...

    Hitchwood - Hertfordshire (Bluebells)

are they out yet? seems quite early, but I guess we haven't really had a winter! There are some woods near saffron walden that look stunning (if you don't mind some light trespassing to get into them) - https://goo.gl/maps/rmc2e6wqHFMHapv88 for anyone local!

Question about Lensmaster RH2 gimbal head

It's a 500 mk2. The tripod is https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/220145-REG/Ergorest_185500_Multi_Pod.html Don't know if anyone still sells them. I bought it to use in the car, for which it's brilliant. In a hide the height is never quite right, and it's not the most secure thing in the...

Question about Lensmaster RH2 gimbal head

same here, with 500 f4 and canon r5. When I add the 2x converter it's right at the back of the plate but still super-secure - although I noticed last week that I need to move the plate back a bit for when I've got the 2x converter but don't have the lens hood fitted... (the stand is an...

M1 MacBook Air okay for editing?

I’m selling mine in the classifieds because I got a pro for work but the m1 was absolutely fine to edit stills. Much quicker than my kids 2yr old pro. It did struggle a bit with big video files and multiple displays.

The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Don't get me wrong, I really like my newish X-Pro3 but it's a bit slow to find focus - am a long time canon user and have been through the 5d's and now have an r5 which is astonishing, so perhaps I'm judging it against something unfair, but I've missed a lot of shots with the lovely fuji because...

    MacBook Air vs MacBook Pro?

I've tried a new Air and was blown away by the speed it dealt with canon R5 raw files. Is the Pro faster again enough to make it worth the extra money?

    Wildlife camera gear advice

Fuji's new 70-300 is surprisingly good. Can you justify a slightly higher spend if you get a newer fuji body and keep your old lenses?
