    Nikon D3s official owners/users thread, anything related to the D3 D3s D3x

Page 112 in the user manual. It was really bugging me, just had a “dry” run and things are just as they should be, full control.

    Nikon D3s official owners/users thread, anything related to the D3 D3s D3x

I recently bought a low shutter count D3s (19000 actuations). For several years I’ve been using a D700 and half expected to transition easily to the D3s but I really don’t like the auto ISO and can’t find out how to turn it off! I feel I don’t have the control that manual should give me, any...

    Who uses a Monopod?

A few years ago now I bought my Nikon 70-200 f2.8 and it was a heavy lump for me then, now at 71 years of age it's even heavier so stability and framing is important to my style of photography, I bought the Manfrotto 679B and it's as invaluable now as it was then,

    Fly lead and power block

I went to use my Smartflash 2 today and the fly lead that is connected to it's power block has become fractured and I was unable to recieve a signal to the trigger. I've looked on the Lencarta website but unable to find the cable/power block I need, any help would be appreciated.

Nikon D700 official owners/users thread, anything related to the D700

Quite sometime ago I bought a Sunway LFM-N1 replacement footplate for my Nikon VR 11 70-200 f 2.8 lens, I can't remember where I bought it from so does anyone know a UK seller of this item, everywhere I've looked seems to be japan or the states.

    Bag/case for strobe

I mainly use 1 Lencarta Smartflash 300, I bought a suitably sized tool box from B&Q and some foam from Dunelm. I can fit the power lead and trigger in there as well so that it's all self contained, nice carry handle and the lid has two good clips to keep the lid secure whilst carrying it.

    Will less really become more?

I moved away from landscape and general photography and now focus on model photography "In the landscape" when the weather is fine. What I have noticed over the last four or five years is the rise and rise of digital art being used in images. Overlays and textures featuring very prominently...

    Blue tint from vinyl background

Thank you for that little insight Wayne, I always thought it was a Nikon thing, I nearly ALWAYS have to drop the Cyan/Blue when there is white or black involved and yes, I have a UV filter on the front. I'm doing a location shoot today and the model might be wearing a black leather jacket, I...

Nikon D700 official owners/users thread, anything related to the D700

My ageing but lovely D700 is in dire need of new rubbers all round. Where to buy and what solvent should I use to remove the existing glue? I have found the 5 pc kit here but never heard of them...

    Stip (rectangular) softbox vs octa?

I also have the Phot-r 80x120 strip box and grid. I have been using it for a lot of bodyscape shoots and I found that it was just a little too wide so I blanked off a portion to give a narrower pop of light and this works perfectly for me. I also applied the same technique when I did a standing...
