Thanks folks. So'ton was a loss - couldn't find anywhere decent to shoot. In Eastbourne I was lucky enough to know someone in the area who showed me a cool spot where you can see Lewes and a windmill that some guy's building by hand. Will share some pics soon! :)
I'm off to Southhampton and Eastbourne this week for work and have 2 evenings free. With the nights closing in, thought it'd be good to get out with the tripod and do some landscapes.
Are there any locations worth going to? I usually drive around for an hour scouting first before finding...
Had a similar question elsewhere so I thought I'd copy+paste the reply :)
I take your points. :) It's actually pretty hard to write those sorts of posts. I could have gone into waaay more detail, but I figured that if you're a complete newbie to Lightroom then there's much better websites...
Just added a new Blog post, folks.
It details how you go from the photo on the left, to the one on the right. Click here to view the post.
:)
Let me know what you think.
Would like a black one!
You know the "Q" button on Canons? Brings up a variety of info on the LCD... Would be good to have a distance scale that could tell you where you've focussed and how much front-back will be in focus. Couldn't be hard!?
They're really lovely to hold. Just solid and lovely. :)
And yes, the distance scale is useful - but not very.
I really don't know why digital cameras can't come with a hyperfocal distance display!
Playing around with my new 5DmkII tonight, banged out these.
I have these 3 cameras knocking around my office. No real reason except the Brownie Flash and bellowed Brownie were found at my Grandparents, so it reminds me of them.
The OM10 I bought on eBay for about £30 and have so far ran...
It gave me a warm and fuzzy feeling inside, last time I did it, so here you go folks...
Free Adobe Lightroom Presets
If you like 'em, leave a comment on my blog! :)
I'm still using a 5 year old Philips 17" square format one.
I don't see the need to upgrade as I find it really accurate, not too bright, and portrait photos fit as well as landscapes do.
Why, oh why, don't manufacturers make 1:1 monitors any more!? 16:9 ones annoy me massively for editing!
Erm... You could:
Use them as a sledge
Cut amusing animal shapes out of them and use them with paint, not dissimilar to potato prints
Build a wall around your house, to protect you from ze Germans
I dunno... What were you hoping to use them for?
