I'm in need of a reasonably low cost tripod, ideally at a size that I can stash in a backpack but sturdy enough to support my 400D and 17-40 L. I currently have a Velbon CX Mini which is great but just doesn't have the height for some situations.
Looking to spend around £50, maybe more at a...
It takes longer than 2 minutes to explain what aperture is (to a complete newcomer), then you have to explain how and why it adjusts the end result, and likely uses for it in different styles of photo.

I found it very difficult to actually get my head around shutter speed, aperture, iso and how they all change the end result, then when you need to adjust each one. Infact it didn't really click until I read Understanding Exposure. Granted I was trying to go...
I found the technical aspects of manual exposure a bit overwhelming, but I like to learn things inside out. At first I was completely confused and to be honest I lost interest in my camera for a while as the learning curve seemed to steep, then this year I made a new years resolution to learn to...

I have a Meade ETX 70 telescope sitting around and thought I might be able to get some cool moon shots with it if I can connect my 400D.. at which point I got completely lost. I wonder if anyone can steer me in the right direction?
I think I need this...
