I would also recommend a d800 as a good shout. The best camera I've ever had and sadly missed. I'd think about an 85mm or 135mm prime if you want to shoot portraits as a main subject matter.
Agree with Chris. Can't really fault this lens in any major way. If you're doing buildings have you considered a Tilt Shift?
Edit - sorry you want it for landscapes too. I'd be minded to go with the Nikon 20 or 24mm
Anyone hoping to get along to any of these? I'm quite looking forward to it and hope I can make a few rounds. I hope it's going to be as good as it was back in the day. Seems quite a media frenzy about it at the minute.
How about a Think Tank Retrospective 10. 70-200 on body fits no problem plus room for additional lens/bits and bobs. I also just happen to be selling mine in the classifieds but even if I wasn't I would recommend it, fantastic bag.
