I want to replace my Sony A7 camera strap with a non-branded more minimal strap, can anyone here suggest a strap that may work? I use a Peak Design Capture clip so the strap is really just there for safety if the clip fails, or for when i'm using the camera.
Thanks
I think you’ve all convinced me to drop the filter. I’m a gram counting backpacker so am more than happy to save a the grams! Maybe I could pack a polariser with my saved grams!
Rocks.
However, I do agree that I don’t really need a filter and the more I come across this problem the more likely I am to drop it. But it’s definitely a cheap bit of protection when in harsh environments.
I’m probably also a little old in my way of thinking as I came from Canon and several...
I backpack in the mountains so it’s almost certainly correct that it’s the climatic difference between my tent and outside. I’d have hoped the seal was a little better that would stop this being such a frequent problem. It often does not clear and gets worse not better.
I use UV filters on a Sony 24-105 and they are constantly fogging up when outside. I very often have to remove the filter.
Is this normal? It’s incredibly annoying and ruins many photos.
It better be with the price difference.
I realise I have fairly niche needs so will go and check out the options and see if any are worth the switch. My needs are always going to result in compromises with camera gear.
I currently have the standard 24-105 which is big and heavy and not quite wide enough. The Tamron saves me 300g and a lot of bulk which is fairly appealing. I’ll see if I can go and look at some of these options over the weekend.
Every gram is fairly important for multi-week backpacking trips at elevation in the mountains. I’ve thought about the pz and will look at that also but the range isn’t so ideal as the others. The 20-70 is definitely pushing it for size and weight.
I've not really looked that much but the reviews seemed fairly good from my initial look? The 20-70 is possibly an option, but physically larger, heavier, and double the cost. My primary aim is to lighten my load for multi-week wilderness hikes whilst still maintaining a good photography setup...
Does anyone have the Tamron 20-40? I'm considering one as I want to save some weight for long backpacking trips with my A7 IV. It's a 300g saving over my 24-105 and quite a lot smaller!
I purchased one of the remote shutters as suggested above. It looks a little 80s with the extendable aerial! It works very well though and I just used it on a trip to Norway. I can operate the camera from quite large distances and it's mostly fairly reliable. I can't imagine it will last very...
This is an interesting option. My assumption is the RMT-P1BT will probably have a similar range to using my phone with the Sony app, this alternative option likely gives far more range.
I have a Sony A7IV and hike solo a lot with it so want to take photos of myself easily. I use the Imaging Edge app from Sony to connect to the camera and use the remote shutter but the range is awful and it randomly disconnects all the time. It's every so slightly infuriating. I also use the 10s...
