Yes, it's the most striking difference in terms of stats. Now that uploads are no longer displayed as thumbnails I guess there is no need to click the image.
Towards the end of the day I was using F2.8 exclusively, this is an example of one of the last shots I took and the slightly darker area to the right of this image is the fencing.
This shot shows the fence type involved:

One of the problems is that to get a decent angled shot it...
For many years I have been using a Canon 100-400L to shoot through the fence at Heathrow (from the northern perimeter road) and a few shots end up with bits of the fence largely ruining them but not so many that it was a big issue. My last two visits to the same spot have seen me use a Sigma...
Bought this lens via TP in 2010 and was very happy with it but as time has passed there is an increasing level of softness appearing from the left of my images which puts me off using it. The following shot should give a better idea what I'm talking about...
Both were taken at F7.1. It just annoys me that I make a point of cleaning the sensor and then after shooting less than 50 frames I get that big spot which seems to have appeared from nowhere. I guess i am more concerned with not transferring the issue to a new camera, although the lens could do...
I've been having increasing issues in recent months with dust on the sensor of my 30D. The following are two shots from December taken with a Canon 100-400L, the first was at 300mm and the second was a mere four seconds later at 150mm.

For Heathrow this is an excellent site:

The BAA advice is useless at best.
Yes, the Canon battery does go through the normal light sequence, I have not really used the third party batteries much in recent months so I may have to just give them a try and see how things go.
I have a Canon 30D and lately I have had issues with my batteries. For example I put a battery on charge last night (the battery was supplied with a 40D I purchased a couple of years ago) and the battery charger showed a solid red light within 30 seconds of starting to charge. I left it on...
Would love to give Fixation's cleaning service a go but I keep hearing stories of sensors being cleaned by shops only to come worse or no better, plus money is pretty tight over the next 2-3 months and I don't think my wife would appreciate me spending money on a pro clean at the moment...
Having had no issues cleaning my 5D sensor recently I tried the same yesterday on my 30D using a combination of swabs and lensklear and after a while I had a 98% clear sensor. I went out this afternoon to take some sunny weather shots and on returning home I find my nice clear sensor has already...
It appears that my brother in law (living in the UK) was one of the photographers and he concurs that the copyrights belonged to the company, but his help will be invaluable in helping catalogue the images. I have every intention of displaying the images online in some form but given that I am...
I received a large parcel of over 700 slides yesterday, they are images from the interior of Papua New Guinea and generally date from 1992-1995. They were taken by several people but all under contract to my parents publishing company. Since my father passed away in 2007 the company was...
I'm glad to report that Fixation repaired the fault at no cost and I now have a fully functioning 5D again....just in time for another trip to Spain where I shall try to carry on where I left off with the pictures I wanted to take.:)
Only two major failures really, the scratched sensor was entirely my own fault, the failure on the 300D on the cruise was repaired with some sellotape so I didn't miss any shots at all I don't think. This time is a pain but I know we'll be back here again soon although perhaps I'll bring the 30D...
