Thank you. What are the main improvements on what I have?

I am currently using a Canon 100-400 EF L IS lens on a Canon EOS 1D I would welcome suggestions as to what I could upgrade to with better focus speed than this lens.

Its been so long since I looked at it - I thought it was CS5 but in fact its CS3. I do have the disks and serial number.

I had to upgrade my old computer to a Windows 10 and it won't install. I believe they have switched off the activation servers for it now.

I meant to say PS (photoshop) CS5.

I wonder if someone can recommend the best way to do this simple task please? My PS5 has now expired and I cant justify replacing it for what I use. All I want to do is to place 2 prints on an A4 sheet one above the other. I have tried GIMP but just cant find my way around it.

My SX700HS often disappoints when zoomed in. Often failing to focus. It did go back to Canon soon after I purchased so the operation has been checked. Does anyone have experience of the later model SX730 or 740? Interested to know if the technology has been updated on the focus at full zoom. I...

Thanks for your replies. I have been using an EF-S 17-55mm and it does make a noise although not unbearable. Manual focus is quite tricky when outside as I find it difficult to see the screen well enough to get a good focus.

I use my 650D for Video occasionally, but when I use on auto focus I can always hear the focus hunting on the video playback. Has this been addressed on more recent models?

I am looking for a travel zoom for forthcoming overseas trip. Price and image quality looks attractive on the Canon SX280 but I am concerned about the mixed reviews on battery performance. Any experience from recent buyers a would be interesting.
