This has happened to me, I've learnt to just enjoy the day for what it is, in my case it's usually a walk up a mountain to chase a sunrise and when the clouds close in I try to find something else to picture. Keep at it, you'll get the shot you are after!
Thanks FionaS. Ideally I'd like to try bring up my good picture ratio. From reading the landscape and nightscape threads on here I've a few things I want to try.
I always pack a thermos for hot coffee when waiting for the right conditions and recently bought a gas stove from decathlon for my bacon rolls in the early mornings.
Not many NI peeps in here then. Had to use the search tool to find this thread :).
I've slowly been exploring the mournes this year and hoping to get up more over this winter.
Never tried cavehill or slemish, have any of you got favourite locations to shoot from?
