I didnt mean the whole pole, you can get 14m carp poles so you would only need to use the larger extension sections and not the tip sections that have all the flex in them.
Yes they are. They are not to heavy, basically a M20 nut pressed into a aluminium shell. Theaded rod is steel mainly for durability, will see how it effects the weight.

Yer tried a wire with turnbuckles and I still wasnt confident. Anyway just bought 5m of 50mm aluminum tube for £25 from a local supplier.:D

so far have some Woods cups, Manfrotto magic arm and some super clamps, just need the pole. Tried some 32mm tube from B&Q but it was all over the place at 6m even before the camera was on it. Widest lens is 17mm so...
