please help me choose a compact for traveling

Ha saxz! ... I am spared by the enormity of my own stupidity. :( As your g10 is busted it seems that my advice may be timely after all, mate!

please help me choose a compact for traveling

I'm late to the conversation brad and just wondering why you see such a long zoom as necessary for travel unless you are into wildlife. Whenever I travel I tend to shoot more wide angle than zoom because I want to capture as much of the scenery as possible. And of course if your camera optics...

Taking camera to USA - a few questions

I had no issues taking it as hand luggage into the US. I'm not sure what duty you pay in the UK for buying online overseas, but I can thoroughly recommend B&H New York as an efficient and universally trusted online dealer. I mention this as it may just be simpler and cheaper than buying...

Tina, like Houston says, Giottos MML3260B is very good, not too heavy and the first 3 letters actually stand for, "Made for My Lady", and the last two, "Oh Boy!" Would I lie to you? :suspect:

    Why do we take pictures?

Thanks Vic. Sensational transparencies of exceptional brilliance in Steve's blog, End of an Era, 1935-2010 which holds a special significance for me as I was born in 1935. Hopefully I still have a few more media cards left in me before I hang up my cameras.

    Why do we take pictures?

Thanks, Vicky. Thinking over what I said about Kodak dropping Kodachrome, that may not be true. The TV segment was saying that the last pro Kodachrome lab in the USA shut down this week and apparently a client from AZ sent 1,000+ rolls for processing.
