I'm not saying your device is doing a wrong job, but thinking of doing an investment on this kind of device, I'd choose the x-rite. There's just an example (from avsforums) of why it's less recommended than the i1display:

I do have an DTP94 device, but just for confirming that is still doing a good job, I'd like to use a modern one. Or even better using a spectrophotometer to profile my device itself. For the prints, I get the profiles done by permajet as I use their paper.

I've seen this being asked long time ago, and googling it I couldn't find any answer... Is there a way to do some profiling without buying the devices? I just want to check my setup every now and then, and spending 200£ for the calibrator it's a bit steep... Thanks!

The difference is if at anytime you need to do any change to them, the results won't be nearly as good as they would with the originals. And again, the argument of storage price is senseless now, 6TB for 150 quid, and takes way lots less of room than blurays

JPEG compression and no loss of quality doesn't seems right to me. Same size? Filesize? Same resolution? Even if they look the same after any kind of lossless comrpession there WILL be differences
